Our story
It all began over half a century ago… 60 years in fact. We’ve grown from humble beginnings of a one-man band in 1964 to where we are today – part of one of the world’s most respected pioneers in water treatment.
A sweet start
Our very first project back in the 60s and the catalyst for things to come, was to resolve the hard water issues faced by a local British Sugar factory in Bury St Edmunds.
Back then, the processing of sugar beet was nowhere near as efficient as it is now, using an incredible amount of hot water. But being hard water, it took its toll on both the end product and the equipment. We’re all familiar with limescale in our kettles, just imagine that on an industrial scale!

Through the decades, our reputation as the UK experts in water softening grew and grew. With engineering excellence and a pioneering spirit at our heart, we were continually improving our products to make them perform better, faster and more efficiently, and expanded into specialist filters and purifiers too. Our products can be found everywhere from LegoLand to Sandringham and some of the Premier League football stadiums.
It wasn’t long before our position as the ‘installer’s product of choice’ was firmly set. On the back of our success, 2018 saw us become part of Culligan International, the US-based water treatment company active in more than 90 countries across the globe.

Through the decades, our reputation as the UK experts in water softening grew and grew. With engineering excellence and a pioneering spirit at our heart, we were continually improving our products to make them perform better, faster and more efficiently, and expanded into specialist filters and purifiers too. Our products can be found everywhere from LegoLand to Sandringham and some of the Premier League football stadiums.
It wasn’t long before our position as the ‘installer’s product of choice’ was firmly set. On the back of our success, 2018 saw us become part of Culligan International, the US-based water treatment company active in more than 90 countries across the globe.

Proudly British with a long-standing heritage, as the UK specialists we’re still based in a quiet Norfolk town, just a stone’s throw from where our story was first founded – we just think bigger. Our site is bigger to accommodate many thousands of products and many thousands of tonnes of salt coming through. Our team is bigger too, most being local, and many having been with us their whole careers.
